These surge protection barriers are used to safely protect field devices and control units from voltage surges caused by various sources, e.g. lightning strikes or switching operations. They come in a rugged metallic housing with ingress protection IP20 and can be installed in a free cable gland of a field device, even in explosion hazardous areas.
